Pain and sprains in the ankle are usually caused by weakness or by repetitive strain to the cartilage & soft tissues. Many seemingly straight forward injuries to the ankle occur because of pre-existing weakness. Some people get heaps of ankle sprains and others don’t get any after all.

We take millions of steps per year on concrete, tarmac & paving which are many times harder than almost all natural surfaces. These hard surfaces exert highly unnatural stresses on the ankles over a lifetime.
